Every month, i’ll be doing an art piece for my friends at Monster Children magazine online that spotlights a strange holiday. Here is my first one, because April 16th is International Save The Elephant Day (click on the image above to see it in higher res). Go to monsterchildren.com and see it for yourself, and stay tuned in the months to come for more weirdness. http://www.monsterchildren.com/32150/today-international-save-the-elephant-day/
Out now is my latest full page piece for Penthouse. Since we flood our waterways with pharmaceuticals, why not see what happens with a few cell phones that slip through the cracks? Penthouse’s May issue, get your greedy little paws on it.
Small peek at some work in process for Antihero….part of a huge set of 11 decks, what you see here is just a tiny portion of what’s in store. Stay tuned for yukks galore, coming soon…
In stores is the Wild Jokers set of decks from Antihero. Featuring decks for Grant Taylor, Andy Roy, new pro Raney Beres, Chris Pfanner and John Cardiel, its sure to delight. But there’s more! Each deck comes shrink-wrapped with a black and white poster of the full pigeon/poker scene, which will look highly impressive on your wall. Really happy with how these came out… These will be out of shops soon, so deal yourself in while you can.
Every month I do a full page painting for Penthouse magazine, and now out is their April ’05 issue. In it you’ll find this piece, which is about finding love where you can, because its gone before you know it. But then, you knew that already, right? Click on the image for a higher res look at it. The magazine is on newsstands now, so check it out. Stay tuned for more of my ongoing work with Penthouse.
I recently partnered up with HUF on a limited edition capsule of new tees, hats, and a skate deck. Brand founder Keith Hufnagel and I go way back to the early 90s, when I was doing his skate graphics for Real Skateboards. The collection has gotten tons of attention via Thrasher, Hypebeast, and lots of other print and online media, and was big fun to work on. Wanna see the full collection? Go here: http://store.hufworldwide.com/collections/huf-x-todd-francis To see the video about the project, and to witness my snake Happy demonstrate what we do with dirty rats, here:
Shepard Fairey’s Subliminal Projects gallery in Los Angeles has made a limited number of these signed 5 color screenprints available on their online store. The print is a reproduction of the Andy Roy “Roaches” pro board from the late 90s, and has never been available until now. Its an edition of 100, measurements are 28.5″ by 9.5″ and is signed and numbered. These prints were created to accompany the recent “Agents Provocateurs” art show that ran at Subliminal, of which I was a part. Once they sell out, they’re gone for good. On Hypebeast is an article featuring 10 artists they consider to be influential in fashion right now, and they chose me as one of them. Pretty cool…there are some incredible talents on the list, so i’m deeply honored and humbled. I’m even more moved the image chosen is my pigeon with a condom in his mouth. Influential indeed! I’ve got three new large pieces showing at Subliminal Projects Gallery in Los Angeles from January 24- Feb 21. The opening reception for the show was haywire and well attended, if you want to see the group show in peace, now is your chance. Some great work from artists like Ed Templeton, Cleon Peterson, Sean Cliver, Mark McKee, Michael Sieben, Mark Foster, Ben Horton, Donny Miller and lots of others. All the work is visible and available for purchase (including my paintings and a limited edition Antihero Andy Roy Roaches screenprint) at Subliminal’s website. http://subliminalprojects.com/exhibition/agents-provocateurs/pigeon-trio_change-your-prescription_lo-res/
Seb Carayol, who edited my recent book “Look Away,” has written and edited a new book, “Agents Provocateurs,” published by Gingko Press. Its a collection of 100 of the most provocative and memorable skateboard graphics of all time, and there’s tons of great work by filthy animals like Sean Cliver, Todd Bratrud, Ed Templeton, Jeremy Fish, Mark McKee, Michael Sieben, and Alyasha Moore. And i’ve got a bunch of my favorite work in there too. And on the back cover too, yes! Buy it online or anywhere else you might buy your filth. Support your local bookstore if you can.
